Recent updates from Walt Disney World bring exciting changes for visitors. Notably, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance now offers extended evening access, while renovations impact popular attractions and accommodations.
Rise of the Resistance Extends Operating Hours
Guests at Disney's Hollywood Studios can now enjoy Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance during the park's Extended Evening Hours. Previously unavailable during these times, the popular Star Wars attraction offers a rare opportunity for nighttime rides. This change is in place while Magic Kingdom hosts Halloween parties, though the Extended Evening Hours will shift back to Magic Kingdom in the fall. This allows guests staying at select Disney hotels extended access on specific nights from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. 1
What this means for your trip: Travelers staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts and select hotels have the chance to experience this major attraction with potentially shorter wait times during less crowded evening hours, enhancing the overall park experience. 1
Kidani Village Lobby Sees Continued Refurbishments
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge's Kidani Village lobby is undergoing ongoing refurbishments, leading to a temporary relocation of guest check-in to the Palace Library. The south lobby corridor will also close from October 26 to November 6, 2026, as part of phased improvements. Guests should anticipate alternative routes and available shuttle services to navigate the resort, as certain pathways remain blocked. 2
What this means for your trip: Visitors should plan for potential longer walks and consider shuttle options when navigating Kidani Village. Adjustments to check-in and resort navigation are essential for maximizing comfort and convenience during this period. 2
Tiana's Bayou Adventure Scheduled Closure
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom, along with its gift shop, will close for refurbishment on November 2, 2026. The refurbishment, lasting until December 18, aims to refresh the water attraction ahead of the busy holiday season. This marks the first major closure since its 2024 debut, aligning with seasonal maintenance practices. 3
What this means for your trip: Visitors planning to experience Tiana's Bayou Adventure should adjust their schedules to accommodate this closure. Anticipate reopening just before Christmas, offering a fresh experience for holiday visitors. 3
